2. Vehicle Rentals & Driver Services
When booking a vehicle through Serendib Journeys, the following rules apply:
- All driver and partner vehicle bookings are subject to availability.
- Vehicle rates include fuel, insurance, and professional driver fees unless specified otherwise.
- Passengers must adhere to local traffic rules, safety regulations, and seatbelt laws.
3. Safari & Tour Bookings
Our safari packages and curated experiences are conducted in national parks and conservation areas:
- Park entry regulations, opening hours, and safety guidelines issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) must be followed at all times.
- Serendib Journeys is not responsible for animal sightings, which are subject to natural conditions.
4. Payment & Cancellation Policy
We aim to make our cancellation policies clear and fair:
- Free Cancellation: Bookings cancelled more than 14 days prior to the scheduled date are eligible for a full refund.
- Late Cancellation: Bookings cancelled between 7 and 14 days prior are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior are non-refundable.
5. Limitation of Liability
Serendib Journeys acts as an intermediary booking agent between travelers and independent transportation partners. We strive to maintain the highest quality standards, but we are not liable for personal injury, property damage, delays, or disruptions caused by local partners, traffic, weather conditions, or force majeure events.

Serendib Journeys is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect the minimum necessary data to provide our travel booking services, including:
- Contact information (name, email address, phone number).
- Verification documents for driver onboarding (driver licenses, vehicle licensing, photos).
- Session activity and security identifiers to prevent fraudulent access.
2. How We Use and Protect Your Data
We take security seriously. All connections and data transmissions are encrypted using SSL/TLS, and database transactions are secured using standard PDO practices.
- We never store plain text passwords. Authentication is handled using secure hashing or Whatsapp/email-based OTP tokens.
- Driver credentials are submitted securely and kept private, only viewed by authorized platform administrators during the review process.
- Payment information is processed directly by secure Stripe/PayHere providers and is never saved on our servers.
3. Sharing of Information
Your information is shared only with the vehicle partner or guide assigned to fulfill your booking request. We do not sell, trade, or distribute your personal details to third-party marketing companies.
4. Cookies & Trackers
We use standard session cookies to keep you logged in and ensure secure CSRF validation. You can configure your browser to block cookies, though some security features of our booking flow may require them to function.
